Mykita
Mykita is an eyewear design company based in Berlin, Germany. Mykita was founded in 2004 by designers Philipp Haffmans and Harald Gottschling, who previously co-created and designed for German eyewear brand ic! berlin, and business managers Daniel Haffmans and Moritz Krueger.
Mykita's first range of glasses, marketed as Collection No.1, was released in October, 2004. The collection features handmade prescription frames and sunglasses constructed from stainless steel sheet metal, with a screwless hinge design. The collection received a 2007 product design award, and the collection's "Rocco" model won a 2007 red dot design award.
In 2006, Mykita collaborated with Berlin cosmetics company Uslu Airlines to produce two limited edition aviator sunglasses. In October 2006, Mykita announced a second range of glasses, Collection No.2, consisting of prescription frames and sunglasses constructed from cellulose acetate.
